About This Package
Mount Meru (4,566 m) is one of East Africa's most spectacular and underrated mountains. Rising dramatically from the plains inside Arusha National Park, it offers a genuine adventure with a thrilling knife-edge ridge walk along the crater rim, close-up wildlife encounters (giraffe, buffalo, colobus monkey) in the lower forest, and jaw-dropping views of Kilimanjaro across the Saddle. The 4-day Momella Route is the only permitted path to the summit. The final push to Socialist Peak involves an exposed ridge scramble and is one of the most memorable finales of any East African mountain. Meru is also the best acclimatisation climb before Kilimanjaro, and we offer a combined Meru + Kilimanjaro package at a discounted rate.
