Day-by-Day Itinerary
Transfer from Moshi to Machame Gate (1,830 m). Trek through rainforest to Machame Camp (3,021 m).
Climb through heath and moorland to Shira Camp (3,840 m) with views of Kibo summit.
Acclimatise at Lava Tower (4,630 m) then descend to Barranco Camp (3,976 m). Classic climb-high, sleep-low day.
Climb the Barranco Wall then traverse the Southern Circuit past Karanga Valley to Barafu Camp (4,673 m).
Midnight start to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) via Stella Point. Descend to Mweka Camp (3,068 m).
Final descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640 m). Transfer to Moshi.

About This Package
The 6-day Machame Route follows the same iconic path as our 7-day itinerary but without the extra Karanga acclimatisation day. It is best suited for experienced trekkers who have previously trekked at altitude or who have a history of good acclimatisation. The route passes through lush rainforest, open moorland, and the dramatic Barranco Wall before the midnight summit push to Uhuru Peak. All the same high-quality support, equipment, and KINAPA-certified guides as our 7-day package — just one day shorter.
